NEET-UG Exam 2022 Application Deadline Extended, Here’s How to Apply

A few weeks ago, the National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a notification regarding the National Entrance & Eligibility Examination-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) for the year 2022. For the students appearing in NEET-UG 2022, there is abundant information revolving around the internet. With new updates coming now and then, students at this point have learned a lot about the NEET-UG examination. We genuinely advise all of the students to go through the official website of NTA. Here we mentioned all of the important info and key features that you should know about the upcoming NEET-UG examination.

Application Procedure

Unlike the previous year, this year, the application method for the NEET-UG 2022 follows a 3-step registration process. The process includes Registration, Application, and Fee Payment. The students have the privilege of finishing the entire process together or at the same time.

NEET UG Exam 2022

Registration:

Register for NEET-UG 2022 using the NTA official website and which is https://neet.nta.nic.in/. The application process is completely online.

The students need to fill our these details:-

  • Student’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name
  • Date of birth in dd/mm/yyyy format
  • Identity Card- Class 12 Admit Card with Photograph, School ID Card No,
  • Election Card (EPIC No.), Ration Card, Passport Number, or Number of any other Photo Identity Card issued by the Government Bank Account
  • Passbook with Photograph
  • The students applying from a foreign country need to provide passport numbers and citizenship certificate numbers.
  • The aspirant needs to provide their parents/guardians’ valid contact numbers and e-mail addresses.
  • Add the postal address with Pincode

Application

After adding personal details then the student needs to fill out academic and social details and have to upload their documents. The details filled in the first step can’t be changed except the mobile number after final submissions.

Important details that must be filled in are:

Category: Students must select a category from the drop-down list under the Category option, which includes General, General-EWS, SC, ST, and OBC-NCL. Students are not needed to produce any type of Caste Certificate during these phases. Only during the Counselling by the applicable Central/State Counselling Authority will the requisite document(s) relating to Caste/Community be validated.

Nationality:

The medical college aspirants of Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) & Foreign Nationals can appear for NEET (UG) – 2022 examination.

Choice of Examination Centres

The candidate can select any four cities of their choice for the NEET (UG) – 2022 examination. Allotment of the Centre is done by computer and there is no human intervention.

Medium of Exam:

Choose the medium of examination carefully as it can’t be changed after submission. The students will be provided with an English booklet during the time of examination and vice versa.

Fill in the academic deets

Provide 10th, 11th, and 12th academic details and the prospects appearing in 12th grade in 2022 should choose a qualifying code as 01.

Important things to note:

  • Must have passport size photograph (size: 10 kb to 200 kb) for uploading.
  • Must provide postcard size photograph (4” x6”) and the size should be10kb to 200 kb.
  • The date of taking the photograph must be mentioned below. The focus must be on the face (80% face coverage, ears distinctly visible, white backdrop)
  • Same passport size and postcard size photographs are to be utilized
  • Color photographs must be provided with white background.
  • For the signature, write your sig with a black pen on white paper before uploading.
  • The signature file size should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
  • Left and right-hand fingers and thumb impressions need to be provided and the file size must be between 10 kb to 200 kb.

Fee Payment

  • After completing the application properly, verify the information provided. The students can submit the exam fees by selecting the following alternatives:
  • Select the Debit/Credit Card/Net-banking/UPI/Paytm service provider (Service/Processing costs per transaction and GST (as applicable) to be paid by the candidate wherever applicable) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • After completing Step 3 (payment by debit/credit card/net banking/UPI via State Bank of India/Canara Bank/HDFC Bank/ICICI Bank/Paytm as a service provider), print the Confirmation Page (s).
  • The generation of the Confirmation Page certifies the application form’s final submission. The application will be considered incomplete if it is missing.

Eligibility Criteria To Appear For NEET UG 2022 Exam

To be qualified to apply for the NEET UG 2022 the students must fulfill these criteria:-

  • The student needs to be at least 17 years of age on or before 31 December in the year of admissions
  • There is no upper age limit for the students to appear in NEET-UG 2022.
  • All the citizens of India or foreign citizens need to qualify NEET examination to get admission to India.

Here’s the meaning of codes in the NEET examination

Code-01

Students who will be taking the qualifying examination, i.e. Class 12 in 2022, or whose results are pending, must enter Code-01 at the time of application. However, if they do not qualify for the examination with the required passing percentage during the first round of counseling, their re-application will be canceled. Students provide the required documentary evidence as well.

Code-02

After 12 years of education, students who have passed the Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is comparable to class 12 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination, and have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology for the last two years of study.

Code-03

For students who have passed any recognized Indian University/Board or other evaluating body’s Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (which should include practical exams in these areas) and English as a mandatory subject.

Code-04

For students who have completed either the Senior Secondary Exam or the Pre-University or an equivalent exam with English as a mandatory subject and have qualified Pre-medical Exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

Code-05

This code is for students who are in their first year of a three-year degree program at a recognized university that includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as a compulsory subject.

Code-06

For students who took and completed the B.Sc. Test of an Indian university with at least 2 different subjects: physics, chemistry, biology (botany and zoology)/biotechnology, and have passed the prior qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

Code-07

This code is for students who have passed any other examination that is deemed to be equivalent in scope and standard to the Intermediate Science Examination of any accredited Indian University/board, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as required courses, including test prep.

Scheme for Scoring and Marking

The NEET-UG 2022 exam is divided into four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. Each component is further separated into two parts: A and B. Section A comprises 35 questions for 140 marks, all of which are mandatory, whilst Section B has 15 questions, 10 of which students must try. Section B receives a total of 40 points.

For Section A (MCQs):

(i) With every correct answer, the student gets +4 marks.
(ii) The incorrect answer will be marked -1.
(iii) Unanswered will be marked zero.
(iv) If on assessment, it is found that more than one choice is correct then +4 marks will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
(v) If, on review, it is found that the question itself is wrong it is dropped then all the students
(vi) If, on review, none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or dropped then all the sitting exams will be awarded four marks (+4), irrespective of whether it is attempted or not.

(iv) If on review, it is found that more than one option is right then +4 marks will be granted to only those who have marked any of the right options.
(v) If on review, it is seen that all the choices are correct, the +4 marks will be granted to all the students who have attempted the question.
(vi) in case, if the question is seen to be incorrect/ dropped then +4 would be granted to all the students attempting the question.

Duration

According to the new update, the duration of the exam will be 200 minutes (03:20 hours) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (IST) and shall be consistent for all candidates.

Exam Room Etiquette to Remember:

Avoid wearing dark colors and remember to dress in short sleeves.
If students prefer to wear traditional attire to the Examination Centre, they must arrive at least an hour early to allow for proper frisking.
Students are not permitted to wear any closed footwear such as shoes, sneakers, stilettos, etc. Open footwear such as slippers and sandals with low heels are permitted.

In the event of divergence due to unavoidable circumstances, prior permission from the NTA must be obtained (before admit cards are issued) (such as medical, etc.)

Things to Bring To The Exam Hall:

A printed copy of the admit card, along with a passport-sized photograph (same as uploaded).

One passport-sized photograph is to be pasted on the given spot on the attendance sheet at the Examination Centre.

One Postcard Size (4″ X 6″) color photograph with a white background should be placed on the Admit Card Proforma. The proforma must be handed over to the Invigilator in the Examination Hall, along with a Post Card size photograph. Any of the authorized photo IDs

If claiming the relaxation under the PwBD category, the Competent Authority must issue a PwBD certificate.

What not to bring to the exam hall

Any textual material (digital or written) in a written format, such as bits of paper, Geometry/Pencil Box, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, etc., is prohibited.
Any type of communication device, such as a cell phone, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band, and so on.

Wallet, sunglasses, handbags, belt, cap, and other miscellaneous items
Watch/Wristwatch (digital/analog), Bracelet, Camera, and so on.
Ornaments and metallic items of any kind.

Food that has been opened or packed, water bottles, and so on.
Any item that could be considered for the use of unfair means, such as concealing communication devices such as a microchip, camera, Bluetooth device, and so on.
